# Delete directly spam

 * Hello.
 * Akismet puts spam detected in “unwanted comments”.
 * Is it possible to delete them directly, without having to look at this and then
   empy ?

 * Is that for WordPress comments, or other types of spam?
 * In its WP plugin settings screen, Akismet has an option to “Silently discard 
   the worst and most pervasive spam so I never see it.” that should do this for
   you.

 * I know this option, but I’d like to discard ALL spam, not only “worst” 😉

   Akismet will delete the comments in the ‘Spam’ folder after 15 days.
   If you know how to add code snippets to your WordPress site, you can use the ‘
   akismet_delete_comment_interval’ filter to change the spam deletion schedule.
