United Kingdom and consent

Hi, I’m a UK-based WordPress site admin and I’m interested in using your plugin. I’ve noticed a couple of times on your site that it says that all analytics tools (regardless of cookie usage) need consent in the UK. I wondered if you had a link to where that is stated? I can’t find anything online about it other than in relation to cookies.
